18912. Samuel Prudden. Born on 10 Aug 1673 in Milford, CT.78 Samuel was baptized in First Congregational Society, Milford, on 14 or 17 Aug 1673.69 Samuel died in Milford, CT, on 17 Oct 1742; he was 69.69

On 20 Dec 1705 when Samuel was 32, he married Hannah Clark, daughter of Thomas Clark (ca 1638-23 Oct 1719) & Hannah Gibbard (ca 1641-4 Nov 1703), in Milford, CT.78 Born on 20 Mar 1679/80 in Milford, CT.78 Hannah was baptized in First Congregational Society, Milford, on 11 Apr 1680.69 Hannah died in 1752.69

1. Samuel, b. 26 Oct 1707, d. Aug 1774 at milford, m. there 25 Feb 1741/2 Sarah Beard (b. 10 Sep 1708, d. 27 Jul 1788 at Milford, dau. of Joseph & Sarah (Smith) Beard);
2. Peter, d. 13 Feb 1777 æ. 68 at Milford, unmarried;
3. David, d. ca. 1775, unmarried;
4. Hannah, d. 28 Nov 1786 at Milford, m. there 13 Mar 1742 Samuel Platt (b. 6 Nov 1720 at Milford, bp. 17 Mar 1722/3, son of Richard & Esther (Buckingham) Platt);
5. Sarah, b. ca. 1719; and
6. Grace, b. 20 Oct 1730, d. 18 Nov 1742 at Milford.69

• (I) Children of Samuel Prudden2 (son of Peter1) and Grace Judson were :
  • I. Peter3 born July 28, 1671, died May 19, 1705. He is said to have studied for the ministry and to have been drowned.
  • II. Samuel3, born Aug. 10, 1673 (no date of death given, probably an infant).
  • III. Joanna3 born March 1, 1676, married James Fenn of Milford.
  • ' (3) IV. Samuel3, born June, 1677, lived in Milford, died Oct. 17, 1742, married Hannah Clark, daughter of Thomas Clark whose mother was a Gilbert. She is believed to have been Hannah, daughter of Matthew Gilbert, the Deputy-Governor of New Haven Colony. The will of this Samuel Prudden, found in the Appendix XVI, gives a fair idea of the condition of the family as regards property, one hundred years after the settlement of Miiford.+
