REALTY MAN SLIPS TO DEATH IN SHAFT Owner of Quinby Building Falls 20 Feet Down Eleavot Pit Samuel W. Saltzman, 41, real estate broker, plunged to his death in an elevator shaft in the Quinby Building, 5511 Euclid Avenue, yesterday as he was on his way to his office on the third floor. He had opened the door on the shaft on the first floor, according to his father, Isaac Saltzman, 10931 Tacoma Avenue, N.E., who was with him, when the broker suddenly lost his balance and fell twenty feet into the pit. Attracted by the father's cries for help, George M. Daizo, a tailor with offices on the fourth floor, went into the pit and found that Saltzman had struck head foremost and was unconscious. A police emergency took him to Lakeside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Mr. Saltzman, who lived at 15002 Superior Road, East Cleveland was owner of the building. He is survived by his widow, his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Kazan of Akron and Anna of Miami, Florida, and a brother, Dr. Jacob Saltzman, 9119 Miles Avenue, S.E. Saltzman also owned several business blocks on Superior Avenue N.E. and many private houses throughout the East Side.
