Samuel Sanford

"Samuel Sanford and his wife Elleanor lived in the parish of Alford, in Lincolnshire, England. this was the same parish that the noted Anne Hutchinson was born. It was her father, the Rev. Francis Marbury, who was the rector of the church in Alford, and who had been imprisoned for preaching doctrines contrary to the views off his bishop. Among the children of Samuel and Elleanor was a son John. It is very likely that he shard the liberal views set forth by the Rev. Francis Marbury, for he is found among the first to leave the parish of Alford (or Alvord) to seek a home in the New World."
