Samuel's married Rachel Wheeler in 1722 at Rehoboth.[1]. His headstone lists his birth and death years, 1700 and 1785, and precise dates are found, for instance, in [2].

Samuel probably married second Lydia Singletarry on 9 November 1756 at Sutton.

Samuel then married Wealthian (Sheldon) (Williams) Tourtellot, widow of Abraham Tourtellot, on 27 May 1770 at Warwick, Rhode Island.

Samuel, with sons Samuel, Edward, and Martin, built a paper mill in Providence in 1780.[3]
