BIRTH: Vital Records of Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts - Report of Record Commissioners of Boston, copy of original records, which no longer exist (FHL film #014748 or book #974.461 H2b, vol. 21, p. 63).

CHRISTENING: First Church of Dorchester (FHL film #856696, item 2 or book #974.46/D1 K2r, p. 227 - He was listed "John" instead of "Johnson").

MARRIAGE: Vital Records of Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts - Report of Record Commissioners of Boston, copy of original records, which no longer exist (FHL film #014748, item 2 or book #974.461 H2b, vol. 21, p. 225). Vital Records of Stoughton, p. 267 (FHL book 974.47 Vze or film #873740).      DEATH & BURIAL: Stoughton Old Cemetery Inscriptions, p. 28 (FHL film #861510, item 2) "Johnson Tolman died Oct 1796, age 80 years." No day of the month was listed. His headstone in the Pearl Street Cemetery was copied by Fred & Arlene Tolman in 1965 and his death date was 30 Oct 1896, aged 80 year, 3 months. Vital Records of Bridgewater, p. 565 (FHL book 974.482/B2 V2v, vol. 2 or film #164692) mistakenly lists 30 Oct 1796 as the death of his brother Samuel. Stoughton was in Suffolk County until 1793 when it was put in Norfolk County.
