About Samuel C Warren

Will: 19 Oct 1780: "In the name of God amen. I Sammuel Warren of the County of Spotsylvania and parish of Berkeley being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory Thank be to Almighty God, & being sensible of the uncertainty of this mortal life I have thought it therefore expedient to set my house in order before I die. Therefore I resign my soul into the hands of God that gave it and as to my Temporary Estate I give and bequesth the same in manner following ___ Imprimis. I give and bequesth to my son Wm Warren one and three acres of land whereon I now live including my house and plantation (yet not to be so laid of as to under the rest of my land invonvenient to be again divided but to be equittable done) to him and his heirs for ever ___ 2. Item. I give & bequesth unto my son James Warren one hundred acres of my said tract of land ajoining my son Williams lot to include the plantation whereon James Rose now lives to him and his heirs forever. 3. Item. I give and bequesth the remainder of my tract of land which I bought of Thomas Coats to my son Sam thereon to his and his heirs forever ___ 4. Item. I give and bequesth to my son John Warren the tract of land I bought of Thomas Graves to him and his heirs forever ___ 5. Item. I give and bequesth to my daughter Letty Humphries and lone (?) kind he choice of my stock of cattle to her and her heirs forever. ____ Item. I give and bequesth to omy daughter Elizabeth Rash -- lone kind of my stock of cattler her choice after her sister last mentioned to her and her heirs forever ___ 6. Item. I give and bequesth to my daughter Ann Warren one feather bed and a small pot + two dishes & one basis one cow and heifer of my stock of cattle to her and her heirs forever __ 7. Item. I give and bequeath to my grand son Thomas Shackleford son of my daughter Rebecca Shackleford de'd one of the choice of my stock of cattle after her forementioned legaces are taken out to him and his heirs forever. ___ 8. Item I desir that the remainder of my estate to be equally divided among all my children together with my fore named grand son Thomas Shackleford. Lastly I nominate & appoint my sons William Warren & Samuel Warren whole and sole executors of this my last will & testament in witness hereof I have set my hand & affixed my seal this third day of Septemter 1779.
