Samuel Wheeler was documented as a fourth generation descendant of William White who arrived in America on the ship Mayflower in 1620. See Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Volume Thirteen, Third Edition, published by General Society of Mayflower Descendants 2006, pages 13 and 36-37.


Samuel Wheeler was the son of Obadiah Wheeler and Elizabeth White.1 Samuel married Joanna Wolcott.

Biography

Samuel Wheeler was born on 23 January 1680/1 in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, the son of Obadiah and Elizabeth (White) Wheeler. [1][2][3]

He married Joanna Walcott on 23 November 1704 in Concord,[4][5] the daughter of John and Joanna (Emerson) Walcott born in Newbury, Essex County, on 22 January 1686/7.[6]

The Wheelers removed to Brookfield in Worcester County apparently about 1710 between the births of their daughters Joanna and Elizabeth.[3] He was a yeoman.[7]

Joanna, "wife of Samuel," died in Brookfield on 04 July 1751.[8]

Samuel probably died in Brookfield after 17 October 1761 when he was to be provided for by his son-in-law Thomas Banister.[9]

Samuel Wheeler is my 8th great-grandfather. He is the son of Obadiah Wheeler and Elizabeth White, making him the great-grandson of William and Susanna White, pilgrims who arrived on the Mayflower.

He married Joanna Wolcott on 23 November 1704, in Brookfield, Worcester, Massachusetts.
