Will In the name of God amen I Samuell Wheeler of Stratford in the County of Fairfield & of the Colony of Connecticut in New England being weak of body but in my right mind with right reason and perfect understanding do make this my Last Will and Testament.[2]

Followeth - First I give and bequeath my dear and precious Immortal soul into the hands of God that gave it, and my body to [be] buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter mentioned and my surviving friends making no doubt, but at the Resurrection they shall be united together and be made heirs with Christ in glory - Item. My will is that after my lawfull debts and just demands are satisfied to all men with my funeral expenses, that as to these worldly goods as it hath pleased the Lord to bestow upon me I shall dispose of as followeth - Imprimis I give and bequeath to my dear and loveing wife one third part of my real estate during her naturall life and the whole of my real estate till the children shall come to age suckcessively and one third part of my [word real crossed out] moveable estate at her one dispose in life and in death. And my will is that my wife shall have liberty to sell of my lands to the value of forty or fifty pounds if she shall have need while she shall continue my widow for her releafe. Item. I give to my loveing sons James and Samuell all my lands in Stratford, except my wife shall have a son which she now is bigg with, which if it be a son shall be equal in the land with the brothers before expressed and that they shall equally divide in all my lands both in quantity and quality. Item. I give to my daughter Sarah one third part of my moveable estate att marriage or at eighteen years of age and what that she wants of one hundred pounds, my sons shall make fully up to her as legacies as they shall sucksessively come to age. Item. I give to my dear [word wife crossed out] daughter Mary one third part of my moveable estate at eighteen years or at marriage and what that she wants of four score pounds her brothers shall make up as legacies as they shall sucksessively come to age. And in case my wife shall have a daughter, as she now is with child, with that my sons shall pay her legacie of four score pounds at eighteen years of age or at marriage as they shall sucksessively come to age. And my will is that my sons shall be [word: siesed?] on their parts at ye age of twenty one years. And my will is that if either of my sons named or that child with my wife goeth with if it be a son should [decease crossed out] depart this life before that they arrive to the full age of twenty one years the surviving son shall have all the lands in all respects. And my will is that my sons shall equally divide in my buildings as in the land in all respects. Also my will is that if either of my daughters named or the child that my wife goeth with, if a daughter, shall decease before they arrive at the age of eighteen or marriage that ye surviving shall have the whole given and no part return to their brothers but if all my sons shall depart, their sisters shall have the whole except fifty pounds I give to my wife. And if my daughters shall decease all then I give to my wife thirty pounds. And that this is my last will and testament I do declare by affixing to my hand and seal this twenty second day of March one thousand seven hundred and twenty one. My dear and loveing wife is sole executrix of this my last will and testament and that this with all above written is my last will and testament I do declare by affixing my hand and deal this 22d of March 1721 and in the 7th year of our Lord the King George of England. Signed, Sealed in the presence of these witnesses John Warner Jonathan Stiles Samuell Wheeler [seal] (his mark) Thomas Sherwood Memorandum by way of codicil I the said Samuell Wheeler the above subscribing testator do further declare in addition to my will above written that in case my children should all decease before they come of full age, that then my wife shall have all my moveables forever and all my real estate for her naturall life and after her decease then my brother Nathan Wheeler shall have all my lands he and his heirs forever in case my children die all of them as above said before they come of full age and leave no issue and that he said Nathan shall pay out of it by way of legacy fifty pounds to each of my brothers and sisters of the blood and their lawfull representatives and twenty five pounds apiece to my brethren of the halfe blood and in all other parts. I confirm my will above written and declare I intend in all the devises to my children of a [word] as to my lands. And in confirmation of this codecill I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23d of March Anno Domini 1721- Signed, Sealed and Published in presence of us Samuell Wheeler [seal] John Warner Jonathan Stiles [his mark] Thomas Sherwood John Warner and Jonathan Stiles two of the witnesses to the last will and testament of Samuell Wheeler and codicill in addition to said will of said deceased late of Stratford made solemn oath before the Court of Probates held in Fairfield April the 27th, 1721 that they signed together in company with Thomas Sherwood as witnesses to the said will and codicill and that they saw the testator sign and seal the same and judged him to be in sound mind and perfect understand at the same time. Also that they heard him declare the s'd will to be his last will and testament with the codicill -- The last will and testament of Samuell Wheeler with the codicill in addition thereto being exhibited to ye Court of Probates held in Fairfield April 27th, 1721 which will and codicill being proved is by the Court approved and ordered to be recorded.
