Samuel Worthington (1687–1739) was born in Pownall Fee, Marley, Cheshire, England, moved to Ireland with his family, and died in Orange, Frederick, Virginia. He arrived in Pennsylvania in 1705 with his brothers John and Thomas. In July 1711, he is admitted into the Quakers of Pennsylvania on the word of his father that he was a “laborious lad”. In August 1716, Sarah Simcock was accused of fornication with Samuel in the women’s meeting. They were married in October 1716 at a Quaker meeting. They had three children with Samuel, Jr., being the last. Sometime after Samuel’s birth, they moved to Orange, Virginia, where he died. (by Fran Whyte (Adams)
