Biography

It is not completely accepted that there was a first prior son named Samuel Younglove. The Great Migration 1634-1635, T-Y. (Online database. AmericanAncestors.org. New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2012.) Originally published as: The Great Migration, Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Volume VII, T-Y, by Robert Charles Anderson. Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2011. on page 561 states "David W. Hoyt and Edmund K. Swigart proposed that the son Samuel born in England in 1634 had died soon and that a second son of the same was born about 1638 [Hoyt 1034; An Emerson-Benson Saga (Baltimore 2003, 614]. This claim was based on a list of "Persons in Newbury who took the oath of allegiance, 1678, with their ages," which include "Sam[uel] Younglove, 40" [EQC 7:157]. If we accept this age as accurate, then we must accept the proposal of Hoyt and Swigart; however, ages ending in zero are often approximations, and so we need not necessarily postulate two sons named Samuel."

Note

Note: May be the second male child of this family named Samuel.
