Notes for SANFORD GUEST:
Sanford never left Franklin County, GA. There were two young Sanfords and an elder Sanford listed in the 1850 Franklin County, GA census; The two young Sanfords were listed as "Sanford" and "Sanford, Jr", both 32 years old, both married. One is a son of Colbert and the other is a son of Sanford Guest, Sr. (Colbert's brother). Which one is which? Per the book "History of Pope County, Arkansas" Sanford, Jr., married to Salina Stone, is the son of Colbert. However, you would think "Sanford, Jr". would be the son of the elder Sanford and "Sanford" would be the son of Colbert. Anyway, Sanford, Jr., married to Salina Stone, does not show up after the 1850 census. The other Sanford, married to Frances, can be found in Banks County, GA for the 1860 and 1870 censuses and in Paulding County, GA for the 1880 census.
Sanford Guest fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War.
