Obituary for Sara J. Baird

Morton – Sara J. Baird, 39, of Morton, passed away at 12:34 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at her parents’ home after a five month battle with Sarcoma cancer. 
She was born April 30, 1976, in Peoria, to Jim and Carolyn (Springer) Isbell. She married Loren Baird on July 26, 1997 in Morton. 
Surviving are her husband, Loren of Morton; three children, Samuel, Thomas and Naomi Baird, all of Morton; her parents, Jim and Carolyn Isbell of Morton; one brother, Andy (Angie) Isbell of Lawton, Mich., three sisters, Becky (Chris) Meyer of Morton, Joan (Trent) Sauder of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Jackie (Terry) Gray of Morton. 
She was preceded in death by her grandparents. 
Sara graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, with a degree in family ministry and pre-counseling. Sara was a part of many ministries for those in need and the disabled. 
She owned and operated Lulu’s on Main in Morton. Sara had a lot of creativity that she expressed as a seamstress at Grimm’s Inc., a piano teacher, a photographer, an avid knitter and working with the special education students at Morton Jr. High School. 
Sara had an infectious smile and loved to make people laugh until the end of her life. She loved her family and enjoyed getting together with her siblings. 
She was the “craft queen” and had a large collection of unfinished projects in her basement. She also loved Facebook, Pintrest, cats and watching the Doc Martin television series. 
More than anything else, Sara loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 
She was a member of the Anglican parish, Christ Church Limestone in Hanna City.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Grace Church in Morton, with Pastor David McGrew and Abbot Luis, OSB officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29 and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, both at the church. Burial will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sara Baird Family Benefit Fund c/o Morton Community Bank, 218 N. Main St., Morton, IL 61550.
