Benjamin's wife Sarah, age about 32, also testified. She said that she had heard that Martha Currier was greatly troubled that the town had granted Benjamin a parcel of land near Thomas Currier's land. She said that Martha had made threats and that strange and unusual things had happened to Benjamin's cattle. [Ref, Essex County Archives, Salem -- Witchcraft 1;138]

From The Essex Antiquarian, p. 36:

"Corp. Benjamin Abbot, born in Andover Dec 20, 1661. Was a carpenter, and lived near the Shawshene river in Andover. He was an active and respected citizen. He married Sarah Farnum of Andover April 22, 1685; and died March 30 1703. His wife survived him and was living, his widow, in 1724."

Marriage

Sarah Farnum m. Benjamin Abbott[2] in Andover 22 April 1685.[3][4] Note: A different Sarah Farnum married George Abbot 26 April 1658.

There is a birth record for Sara Farnum, daughter of Ralfe and Elizabeth for 14 January 1661; as her parents are Ralph and Elizabeth Farnum, this seems likely to be this Sarah's birth record.

Date: Aft. 1724 Place: Prob. Andover, Essex, Massachusetts Source: Antiquarian, p. 36 Note: The date is based on a statement in the Antiquarian article; "His wife survived him, and was living, his widow, in 1724." No death record for her found in Vital Records of Andover, under any of the variant spellings of Abbot. Perhaps she remarried(?).
