About Sarah Bamberger (Ettlinger)
My grandmother did not have an easy life. She was my grandfather's second wife (the first having died in childbirth, though the baby survived). My grandmother raised this child and proceeded to have ten more with my grandfather, about one every two years. When my mother, the youngest of this brood, was about 9 years old, her father died of heart problems, and her mother did her best to provide for them by running a boarding house in the town of Bad Kissingen (Bavaria) where they lived and where people used to go "for the cure."
