William Barker b ught land in Flowerdew Hundred from Abraham Piersey’s da., Elizabeth. This property passed to his son, John Barker, in 1655, who left the plantation to two of his sisters, Sarah and Elizabeth Limbrey.

Sarah Barker was born about 1641 and is the daughter of William Barker and Frances Ward. Sarah Barker Taylor, birth Date estimated, about 1641 in England [1]

Name: Sarah Barker; Surname: Barker; Given Name: Sarah; Sex: F Birth: About 1641 in Charles City County, Virginia Death: Before February 4, 1693 in Charles City, Virginia Note: See first husband, Richard Taylor, and father, William Barker, for other notes.[2] Sarah is the grandaughter of Richard Taylor who arrived in Virginia in 1608 and settled at the neck of land in Charles City (now Jones Island in Chesterfield County).[3]

Marriage 1: Richard William Taylor, born before December 3, 1620 in London, England, married before 1640 in England. She married her first husband, Richard Taylor in 1656. Marriage 3: James Bisse, born about 1639 in Briston, Gloucestershire, England, married about 1687 in Charles City County, Virginia. Sarah married her third husband, Captain James Bisse by October 1690.[4]

After Richard Taylor's death, Sarah married Robert Lucy before 1673. He died before 1688. Before Oct 1690 she married Captain James Bisse. Sarah died before 4 Feb 1694, when her son John Taylor petitioned the court for administration of the estate of the late Robert Lucy. He petitioned the court by reason that Sarah, the relict and administrator of the estate had died and that he was the greatest creditor and next of kin to Sarah Bisse.

Sarah Barker married Robert Lucy of Charles City County. He was a rich muckety-muck and died before September 11, 1692 in Charles City County at his plantation, Saw Hill. Sarah died before February 4, 1693 at Saw Hill.[5]

Sarah Barker married Richard Taylor, Robert Lucy, and James Bisse. Sarah Barker and Richard Taylor had five children. Richard Taylor, Jr. was probably a son of an earlier marriage of Richard, Sr. Children born to Richard Taylor, Sr. & Sarah Barker -- Frances, Sarah, Katherine, Elizabeth & John.� In a 1688 court settlement the three surviving children and the estates of the two deceased children "acquitted Sarah Taylor Lucy (their mother) of all claims due them under the wills of Richard Taylor and James Ward."

Abstract. Whereas, Robert Lucy and Sarah his wife and Phillip Limbrey and Elizabeth his wife jointly own 1000 acres in Flower du hundred, inherited from John Barker Dec'd, brother to sd Sarah and Elizabeth, desire partition. Request that Col. Robt Wynne for the Lucy's and Lt. Col Geo Jordan for the Limbreys meet James Minge surveyor on the 22nd instant and divide the land.[6]

"This land was surveyed by Robert Minge. Robert Lucy and Sarah, his wife received the upper part on the James River, and Philip Limbry and Elizabeth, his wife the lower part.[7]

In 1673, Sarah & Robert Lucy received the upper part of Flower dieu containing the residence. In a later division between her sons, Richard & John Taylor, the site of the present house was included in John's portion.[8]

Before Oct 1690 she married Capt. James BISSE.
