OBITUARY 28/4/1933
MRS SARAH CASE
With shocking suddenness the death took place on Monday evening of Mrs Sarah Case, of East Kurrajong at the age of 84 years. Although the deceased had reached a great age she enjoyed comparatively good health up to the time of her death, which was quite unexpected, and came as a shock to members of her family. The late Mrs Case was one of the Hawkesbury's oldest natives. She was born in the MacDonald River district, and was a daughter of the late James Hulbert, a pioneer farmer of the district. At the age of 18 years she was married at Ebenezer to Alfred Case, and together they had lived for 66 years. The deceased reared a family of twelve children, three of whom predeceased their mother.... Of an unassuming and retiring disposition, the late Mrs Case was nevertheless, one who was ever ready to lend a helping hand in any commendable movement. Her home at East Kurrajong, where she lived practically all her life, was the acme of hospitality, and her family always received the closest attention at her hands. She was held in the very highest respect in the Hawkesbury, and has left behind a host of genuine friends who will always cherish very kindly recollections of a good woman. The funeral took place on Wednesday, and the large concourse of friends and relatives that attended was striking evidence of the esteem and respect in which the deceased was held. The remains were laid to rest in St Matthew's Church of England Cemetery, Windsor, Rev N Jenkyn officiating at the graveside, Mr Chandler was the undertaker.
