Biography

Sarah Fugate was born in 1726 in Russell County, Virginia, United States. Her father can not be, due to being born prior to him, this Clark here: Christopher Clark. The atDna points here: Capt. Christopher Clark to this New Kent Christopher Clark, on the reccord in the Avatar.

Sarah married Martin Fugate, of Russell Co., VA circa 1750. Together they had the following children: Catherine Fugate; Benjamin Fugate; Colbert Fugate; William Fugate, Sr.; Francis Fugate; Zachariah Fugate.

She died in 1824.

• Not the same as Sarah Lynch. The 1741 will of Capt. Christopher Clark named his daughter: “4th I give to my loving daughter Sarah Lynch, one negro boy and all things else that she is or ever was possessed of that was mine.”

atDna: SNP 9 139 is claimed by a specific cluster of Martin/Fugate that has to go to this Clark and Johnson cousins. 105 claimants of Johnson match in 21_ cM amounts to Martin of this group's cousin line in chromosome browser of 23andMe which does the triangulations and gives the sur name reflected in all of the groups claimed names. It also gives a triangulation in both individual and group compact views.
