SARAH ELLEN BEATTIE was born in 1758 in Kerrs [also known as Carrs] Creek in Rockbridge County, Virginia. She was married twice:
1. First to ROBERT GILMORE in about 1774 in Rockbridge County, Virginia and they became the parents of three children. ROBERT GILMORE died at the Kanawa River in the aftermath of the Battle of Point Pleasant with Chief Cornstalk on 10 November 1777.
2. Secondly, she then married JAMES LOGAN in 1780 in Rockbridge County, Virginia and they became the parents of several children.
