About Sarah Ann Abernathy

Biography

From https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jones-37299

Sarah Ann Jones was born in 1734 in Amelia, British Colony of Virginia, North America.

Disputed origins

If she was born 1734, she was not the daughter of Col. Richard Jones, IV & Elizabeth Jones. They were married 1744, and their daughter Sarah was born AFT 1767 in Amelia Co., VA. If Miles Abernathy’s wife was that Sarah, she was not the mother of his children.

Family

Sarah married Miles Abernathy, son of Robert Abernathy b. 1695 in Charles City County, and Mary Howell or Harwell, [1754 in Cape Girardeau, MO ?] [probably not]

Miles and Sarah had the following children:

  1. "Big" John D.,
  2. Battee,
  3. Jones,
  4. Elizabeth,
  5. Carlene,
  6. Robert and
  7. Miles.

Sarah died in 1803 in Lincoln County, North Carolina, United States.

Sarah Ann married a Goode after Miles died.
