Biography
1715 Birth and Parents
Sarah Dorsey was born October 15, 1715. [1]
Sarah Dorsey's baptism on 17 September 1717 is recorded in the register of All Hallow's Parish.[2]
Sarah was the daughter of John Dorsey and Honor Elder. Her father took up "Dorsey's Grove" in Upper Howard County, 1080 acres, extending from Glenelg to Glenwood. [3]
1731 Marriage to Henry Howard
About 1731, Sarah Dorsey married Henry Howard. [1]
1735 Partition of Dorsey's Grove Among Daughters
By deed of partition, in 1735, Dorsey's Grove was divided among his four daughters, Hannah Barnes, Sarah Howard, Ruth Lawrence, and Susannah Lawrence. With his brother Joshua, John Dorsey took up "Brothers Partnership" in the neighborhood of Dayton. Upon this he put his son Michael.[3]
1791 Death and Estate
Sarah died in 1791 at the age of 76. Her estate was willed to her surviving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
