About Sarah Melville Hunnewell

Mrs. Sarah Melville Hunnewell, for many years interested in philanthropic activities of the city, died yesterday at her home, 289 Beacon Street. She was the widow of James Frothingham Hunnewell, writer, historian and scholar.
Mrs. Hunnewell was born in Boston in 1854, a daughter of the late Ezra and Sarah (Parker) Farnsworth. She was married in 1872.
In addition to active church work, Mrs. Hunnewell was for many years devoted to furthering the interests of St. Luke's Home for Convalescents, the Sisters of St. Margaret, the Girl's Friendly Society and other organizations.
Mrs. Hunnewell is survived by her son James Melville Hunnewell of Boston; two brothers, Ezra Farnsworth of Minneapolis and William Farnsworth of Dedham; two sisters, Miss Alice Farnsworth and Mrs. James Means of Boston, and three grandchildren.
