Sarah Ingersoll

She was the first wife of Thomas Ingersoll, Esq.(1692-1748)

Inscription on their tombstone reads:

In memory of Thomas Ingersoll Esq who was born Nov 27 1692 & died Oct 9 1748 in the 56 year of his age Also Mrs Sarah Ashley his wife was born March 17th 1696 and died April 30 1778 aged 82 years

"This stone stands but to tell Where their dust lies not what they was When saints shall rise that day will show the part they acted here Below"

Sarah and John were married in 1692 and they had five children: Thomas Jr., Moses, Miriam, David and Eleanor. He next married (2) Abigail (Blakeman) in 1708. He later married (3) Ruth (Church) in 1720. No known children from these last two unions.

Sarah was the daughter of David and Hannah (Grover) Ashley. She married (1) Thomas Ingersoll in 1692 and they had five children: Thomas Jr., Moses, Miriam, David and Eleanor.

She next married (2) Joseph Child in 1694.

Later she married (3) Pieter Willemse Van Slyke in 1702. No known children from these two unions.

She had one marriage to Thomas Ingersoll and had children 1692,1694,1697,1699, 1704. She could not have been married to Joseph Child in 1694 or Pieter Willemse Van Slyke in 1702.
