"Sarah Lawrence was a quiet, unassuming person and no matter what cares or tragedies of life feel her way, she accepted them with a quiet quality. A short time before her death at the age of 92, Lawrence and I [Alonzo Lawrence Jinks and Edith Coker Jinks] called on her and she told us that she had outlived all her friends and acquaintances her own age and that she was slowly dying from her feet up. In spite of what she told us, she was her own cheerful self and seemed to be enjoying her old age. She spent her last years in the home of her son, Floyde W. Ryan Sr. in Dalton, New York."
