Sarah 'Lattie' Emerson, daughter of Aaron Emerson and Rosanna Dowd of North Carolina, was the great granddaughter of James 'The Regulator' Emerson, Revolutionary War Hero. Sarah married Dr. Oliver Perry Luther in 1859, they moved to Lake City, Florida, in 1860. Per letters of Sarah, she visited her son, Frank in Tennessee about 1888 or1889 and mentioned discovering her illness (possibly tuberculosis), then went to visit her son Lonnie in Missouri where she passed away. Her sons William and Oliver passed when they were young, Frank and John also passed away from tuberculosis.
