"On Mar 22, 1662-3, John Bridge became a member of the church, as did his wife, Prudence on April 5 following. In 1664 John joined his father, Edward, John May, and 37 others in a a petition pleading that the General Court should safe-guard the colony's charter."

"In June 1661, John Bridge, in company with John May, John Watson, William Lyon, and William Gary, purchased the property left by Philip Eliot, deceased brother of the Rev John, and in Sept 1661 the first four of these men sold to the fifth fifteen acres, perhaps a part of the same land. This deed was not acknowledged until 1672, after the death of John May, so his widow Sarah (Brewer) May acknowledged the truth of his signature" (p. 116)
