BIOGRAPHY: This is the transcription of a small brown covered notebook i n possession of Cynthia Phillips, great-greatgranddaughter of Enoch Newli n and Frances Hill (Newlin) (Guyer). The contents are primarily a copy o f an 1813 Memorandum to Eli Newlin from his mother, Sarah Holaday Newli n and copied for Enoch and Frances Newlin by Martha Hill Newlin. The spel ling is as written. The whereabouts of the original Sarah Newlin documen t is unknown.

Newlin, PO Box 8345, Guilford College, Greensboro, NC, 27410, 1965, Reprinted by Hutsonville Historical Society, Inc., Rte #1, Box 58, Hutsonville, IL, Pg 219 A Will Speaks to History "From the will it is learned that all members of John Newlin's family were living when the document was written, in 1825. Unhappily there is no answer to the question, did Sarah Holladay Newlin survive her husband."

BURIAL: The Bronze marker in the Newlin Cemetery dedicated to John & Sarah Newlin is believed to be in the location where the original sandstone markers for John III & Sarah Hollady Newlin were located. No dates are given. It lists their 10 children.
