The earliest member of this family is William Palmer (d. 1670), who is found in Watertown, Mass. in 1636. He was married twice. First wife was probably Sarah Heath of Heathcote, County of Heath, England, but there is no proof of this. At the time of his death in 1670 he was married to Martha Bowne or possibly Pinckney. He had three children with his first wife and nine with the second wife. Descendants in this book are through, Samuel Palmer (ca. 1647-1716), who was born in Wethersfield, Conn. and died in Mamaroneck, Westchester Co., N.Y. Descendants live in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, California and elsewhere.
