PAYNE: On May 25. 1950. passed peacefully away at her residence. Capel, Sarah Ann, loved wife of late Alfred William Payne, loving sister of Mrs. P. Parsons, of Cranbrook, loved mother of Fanny (deceased), Foster (deceased), Aubrey (Karridale), Arthur (Capel), Mervyn (Karrldale), James (deceased), Julia (Mrs. W. Scott). Ivy (Mrs. L Nybo). Amy (Mrs. R. Scrivener, deceased), Minna (Mrs. G. Millington), Charlie (deceased), mother in-law of Agnes (deceased), Violet, Nellie. Bell. Hannah, Bill, Herman (deceased). Dick and George, grandmother of 51 children, and great-grandmother of 81; aged 92 years.
Granny Payne, as she was known is my second great grandmother. Her daughter Julia gave the purse in the photos to her eldest grand daughter Patricia June Lording (my mother) on her sixteenth birthday. Granny Payne always had this purse in her possession. A truly unique family treasure.
