Sarah Rives

Sarah Cook Rives was the daughter of Henry "HC" Cook. His son, John Cook, was born after 29 Sept 1738, so his mother was most likely Mary Clarke, daughter of Samuel Clark and Elizabeth.

Henry "HC" Cook had a wife, Elizabeth, at the time he made his will on 13 Nov. 1772. It was proved on 25 July 1774. In Henry's will (Brunswick Co., VA) he named children:

• John
• Henry (deceased)
• Sarah Rives
• Mary Lanier
• Ann Lowd
• Betty Peebles/Peeples
• Drury
• and a deceased daughter (unnamed) married to a Cato

John Cook moved to Fairfield District, SC by the 1780's and a number of Rives lived in and around Fairfield and Richland District. John Cook ultimately moved on to Hancock County, GA where he died intestate by 6 July 1798. Drury Cook also moved to GA.
