Sarah Thompson was the daughter of Reverend Timothy Walker, the founding father and first minister of Concord, New Hampshire. Sarah 1st married Col. Benjamin Rolfe, son of Henry Rolfe (23 Oct 1677-19 Jul 1752) & Hannah Tappan (4 Mar 1678/9-). Born on 8 Jul 1710 in Newbury, MA. Benjamin died in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, on 21 Dec 1771; he was 61.

In Nov 1772 Sarah 2nd married Benjamin Thompson Count Rumford (42393) , son of Benjamin Thompson 27 Nov 1729-7 Nov 1755) & Ruth Simonds 10 Oct 1730-18 Jun 1811. Born on 26 Mar 1753 in Woburn, MA. Benjamin died in Auteuil, France, on 21 Aug 1814; he was 61. Later become known as Count Rumford. Mother of Countess Sarah Rumford, philanthropist.

Benjamin Thompson, Count Rumford. He went to England in 1776 and later served the elector of Bavaria as an administrator. He reorganized the Bavarian army and introduced sociologial reformes in England, Ireland, and Bavaria. He founded a scientific theory of heat. He was created a count of the Holy Roman Empire in 1791 with a title referring to Rumford (later Concord, NH).
