On June 5, 1783 at Stockbridge, Mass. (by Rev. Stephen West), Sarah m. 1) Benjamin Chaplin, Jr., Esq., s. of Dea. Benjamin Chaplin and Mary Paine, b. Nov. 23, 1755 at Mansfield, Conn. where he d. Mar. 30, 1789. They had four children of record at Mansfield:

• i. Mehitable (q.v. Mehitabel) Chaplin, b. Jul 28, 1784.

• ii. Benjamin Chaplin, 3rd, b. Mar. 13, 1786, d. Jan. 28, 1852 at Chaplin, Conn.

• iii. Timothy Edwards Chaplin, b. Aug. 18, 1787.

• iv. Jonathan Edwards Chaplin, b. Apr. 30, 1789.

On June 10, 1790 at Mansfield, Conn., Sarah m. 2) as his 2nd wife, Capt. Daniel Tyler, 3rd, s. of Daniel Tyler and Mehitable Shurtleff, b. May 21, 1750 at Canterbury, Conn. He d. Apr. 29, 1832 at Brooklyn, Conn., Æ 55 (g.s.) They had four children of record at Brooklyn, Conn.:

• v. Sarah Pierpont Tyler, b. Apr. 25, 1791, d. Nov. 7, 1857 at Brooklyn, Conn. (g.s.); m. Nov. 21, 1817 as his 2nd wife, Rev. Samuel Porter Williams, youngest child of Ezekiel Williams and Prudence Stoddard, b. Feb. 22, 1779 at Wethersfield, Conn. He d. Dec. 23, 1826 at Newburyport, Mass. (g.s.) Six children of the marriage.

• vi. Edwin Tyler, b. Nov. 24, 1793; m. Sept. 4, 1821 at Brooklyn, Conn., Alla Mary Edwards.

• vii. Frederick Tyler, b. May 7, 1795, d. Aug. 2, 1880 at Hartford, Conn. (g.s.); m. Feb. 6, 1816 at Brooklyn, Conn., Sophia Sharpe, dau. of Dea. Robert Sharpe and Sarah Davis, b. Mar. 18, 1793 at Pomfret, Conn. She d. June 19, 1861 at Hartford, Conn. (g.s.) Seven children of the family.

• viii. Brig. Gen. Daniel Tyler, b. Jan. 7, 1799, d. Nov. 30, 1882 at New York City but is interred at Anniston, Alabama (g.s.) For reasons not explained here, the balance of Daniel's family summary not currently entered. Inscription: MRS. SARAH TYLER wife of Capt. Daniel Tyler died April 25th 1841. aged 80 years.

Phebe was the second daughter of Timothy Edwards and Rhoda Ogden of Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She first married Rev. Asahel Hooker, married June 11, 1792. Her second husband was Samuel Farrar, Esq. and they were married at Andover, MA. Oct. 8, 1814 [marriage intention], marriage date of October 30, 1814. She had lived in Norwich, CT. She died aged 79 years.

The first six children of Timothy Edwards and Rhode Ogden, including Phebe, were born at Elizabethtown (a.k.a. now the City of Elizabeth, Union County, NJ) where her father was involved in business. Her father did not relocated to Stockbridge, MA until 1771.
