Sarah Randall/Randall-501 is reported born 24 March 1661. Profile had reported she died 1713, but she survived her second husband (Thomas West, d. 1723) and died sometime after 25 January 1726/7. On that day in 1727 she and her sister, "Priscilla Presbery," claimed their father's 100 acre Cape Porpus land grant of 1681 as his "Children & Only Heirs."[1]
Both the vital data and narrative have been updated to remove the report of her death in 1713.
Sarah Randall's parentage is often confused in different family reporting. Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire reports her birth 24 March 1661,[2] thus could not have been the the daughter of an Elizabeth Tozier/Tozier-7 said born "about 1658."For the same reasons, Sarah Randall born 1661 is unlike the daughter of a union in which the parents married married years and years later. More follows.
Sarah's association as the daughter of Elizabeth Tozier was severed pending pending notice of further historical discovery or reasoning.
No such child, Sarah Randall, is reported born to the union of Richard Randall (of Dover) and Elizabeth Tozier by the authors of Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire.[3]
Sarah's association as the daughter of Richard Randall (of Dover) was severed pending pending notice of further historical discovery or reasoning.
Profile reports Sarah Randall married Joseph Cole "1675," but this seems unlikely. (a) Traces of their children suggest those births in the mid- to late-1690s; (b) Sarah would have been about 14 years old in 1675.
Torrey has marriage of Sarah and Joseph "by 1698"[4]
The WikiTree record of the marriage was updated to reflect a later date.
Identity of Sarah's first husband, Joseph Cole, was not shown as a son of John Cole and Mary Chilson by the authors of Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire in either entry (a) about her husband, Joseph (19) Cole[5] or (b) entry for the purported father, John (12) Cole[6]
Referenced authors report John Cole and Mary Chilson married at Saco 23 December 1658, and that he (John) was buried "Mar. 1661."[7]
The relationship of Joseph Cole to parents John and Mary (Chilson) Cole was severed pending notice of further historical discovery or reasoning.
