Francis West married in Greenwich, RI, 12 May 1699, Sarah (Downing) Hilliard/Hillier[1][2] Sarah Downing was probably born in Kingstown, Rhode Island about 1679. She died after 13 Oct 1724 and before 1733.
She was the daughter of John and Mary (Meakins) Downing.
Sarah married (1) about 1698 ____ HIlliard, who died shortly. Mr Hillared may have been William b. 1672/3 or John b. 1674/5. They were sons of William Hillard, who were not mentioned in their fathers 1712 will.[3] It can also be noted that Mary Mott, the widow of Gershom Mott (not her first marriage or his), names grandsons Francis and John West, in her will.[3]
Sarah (Downing) Hillard married, second, Francis West in East Greenwich, Providence County (present day, Kent County), Rhode Island, 12 May 1699[1] Francis died in No. Kingstown, Rhode Island between 23 June 1723 (witness) and 13 Oct 1724 (will proved)[3]. In his will, Francis names his wife Sarah, eldest sons Peter & John Wast, sons Francis & Thomas, eldest daughter Susanna and other daughters Sarah & Mary[3].

- Sarah born 2 June 1700.
- Peter born about 1702.
- John born about 1704 and before 1706.
- Francis born about 1706.
- Thomas born about 1708. An inventory of his estate was taken 10 April 1744
- Mary born 29 June 1711.
