About Sarah Wienholt
A hand-drawn family tree from the early 20th century (see under media) gives Sarah's maiden name as Jobson "of the family of Snayth, Yorks." Presumably this means that the Jobson family were from Snaith.
There are two marriage bond documents (see media) dated 8 April 1772. John Wienholt and Sarah Jopson (note spelling) are bachelor and spinster. John is a merchant of the parish of St Helen, London. Sarah is from the parish of St Mary Abchurch, London, where the marriage is to be solemnised. Both are 'upwards of 21 years'.
A notice in the London Gazette (viewed online at http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/15469/pages/370/page.pdf) indicates that Sarah was in business partnership with her son John Birkett Wienholt at the Old Swan. Other sources show that certain members of the family were dry salters at the Old Swan, including JB Wienholt and also including members of the Birkett family (Sarah's mother's family).
