Funeral Services for Mrs. A. Hunsperger -
Mrs. Abner (Selina) Hunsperger, 73, a pioneer resident of the Didsbury district and first bride to be married in the first church in Didsbury, died Wednesday, January 26 in the local hospital. Mrs. Hunsperger was born in Kitchener, Ontario, and moved to Didsbury in 1894. She was married in December 1898 to Abner Hunsperger and had lived in this district since. Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Irene Rennie and Mrs Ruby Kimmel of Didsbury, Mrs. Lottie McCoy of Carstairs, and Mrs. Holly Peterson of Calgary; one sister, Mrs. Alwin Hunsperger of Didsbury; one brother, Bert Shantz of Calgary; 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, January 28 in the United Missionary church and burial was in the Didsbury cemetery. Pallbearers were her six nephews, Harold Shantz, Glen Shantz, Lynn Hunsperger, Nyle Hunsperger, Gordon Sherrick and Ward Sherrick.
