Left Gothenburgh August 18, 1899 , destination America Chicago. Traveled with her sister Kristina, who came over from America to help her little sister to immigrate to Chicago. Selma was 15 years old and Kristina was 24 years old. Their sister Ida paid for the passage. The ship was the SS Canada the traveled from Liverpool to Boston. It arrived 9/1/1899. They had $2.25 to declare in their immigration papers. Their occupation was servants and their destination was Chicago. Illinois.
Selma's two older sisters had emigrated earlier. Her sister Kristina emigrated in 1891 and then her sister Ida emigrated from Sweden in 1896. Two other siblings remained in Sweden--Karl and Anna. Her parents also remained in Sweden.

1920 Census -- wife of Gustav; age 36; immigrated 1899 naturalized 1907; left from Goteborg. Lives in Marseilles; children Edward (6) Elaine (4)
