About Senator David Griffin
Born in Virginia, immigrated 1792 to Greene County, GA with his son John Griffin and family. Their homestead on Big Creek became part of Oglethorpe County, GA and our Griffin ancestors are buried in an unknown location --possibly along Big Creek. David Griffin was a Baptist believer according to the hand-written journal of his grandson--Rev. Thomas Griffin. "My grandfather- David Griffin as far as I know, had only two brothers. One of them was an early adventure to Kentucky and it is said he had a family. The other brother removed to the Carolinas and had a family though I know nothing of either".
David is documented as living with the family of John Griffin, Sr. in Oglethorpe Co., GA.
