Seward Poland was born in Manchester MA on 2 Feb 1759 and died in Friendship ME and is buried on Loud's Island, ME. .
Seward served in the first defense of the Seacoast in early 1776 and then enlisted in Captain Caleb Turners Co. .
He also fought in the Battle of Saratoga in NY State and was present at General Burgoyne's defeat. .
He served in the Continental Army from Lincoln ME in James Hilton 7th Co. and Captain Teasdale’s Third Massachusetts Company. .
He was discharged in 1780 in a Orangetown, New Jersey at age 23 years old! Seward was just 17 years old when he joined and served with his two brothers John and Nehemiah Poland. .

                  He was born  in 1759  in Massachusetts and died 19 June 1831 at Bristol, Me.

He is buried in the Louds Island Cemetery, Louds Island, Bristol, Maine
He has field stone located in the south east section.
Service: He was a Pvt in Capt. Caleb Turner's Co. He enter the service 26
March 1776 and served to 10 Sept. 1776 5 months 15 days to 7 Dec. 1776.
