Re-enlisted as a Private, then reinstated as Sergeant. 1st Garrison Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Reg. No. 658084 and 21372. WW1 Medal Awards. British War Medal, Victory Medal, 2 Blue Chevrons.
Promoted to Corporal 6 Dec 1907, then to Lance Sergeant 3 Sep 1910, and finally to Sergeant 14 Feb 1914.
