About Sgt George L. Bowser

This aged gentleman whose fatal Illness was recently noted in the TRIBUNE, expired yesterday at his home in West Taylor Twp. near Cambria Furnace. He was born in Bedford Co. but in early life located where he died. He was married three times. His first wife was Sophia Riblett. She bore him ten children all of whom are living. She died June 1, 1864. His second wife was widow Kerns. She died fifteen years ago. His third wife who survives him was the widow of Abram Dishong. When the Cambria Furnace was in blast Mr. Bowser was a collier. During the war he was a brave soldier. For many years he was in charge of the water Company's Laurel Run and Wildcat Dams. His remains will be interred tomorrow at Benshoff's.
