About Sgt Gilbert Wilson Honsberger
GILBERT W. HONSBERGER
SPENCER - Gilbert W. Honsberger, 88, of Spencer, NY, died at the Oxford Veteran's Home on Sunday, October 31, 2004. Gilbert was born in Canada on December 15, 1915 to Ezra and Matilda Myers Honsberger. He was a self employed farmer and had served with the United States Army in China during World War II as an Aerial Photographer. Gilbert is survived by his sister, Elsie McCarthy of Waverly, NY; and his nieces, Marian (Nick) Rollins of Foley, AL, and Verda (Lee) Schmidt of Santa Teresa, NM. He also has several great nieces and nephews, Elaine (Kenneth) Depew of Candor, NY, Linda Turner of Altoona, PA, Donna (Albert) Vergason of Waverly, NY, Kathy Dewolfe of Ithaca, NY, Peter (Sharon) Schmidt of New Mexico, and Claudia (Harry) Beaver of El Paso, TX. Gilbert will be greatly missed by all. A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, New York, on Saturday, November 6, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Philip H. Jordan officiating. Arrangements are with the Candor Funeral Parlour, Inc., 137 Main St., Candor, NY.
