Uriah, along with his second cousin Christopher Patt Hawkins, was one of the first settlers of Newport, moving his family there in 1802. He served seven years in the Revolutionary war and drew a pension until his death.

From Dyane: In the bio section it states: "and Betsy [Henderson] is unaccounted for". Elizabeth "Betsy" Hawkins married Thomas Henderson and is buried at Prospect Cemetery in Jamaica, NY with her daughter, Mary Jane.
