About Sgt. Nathaniel Hite Willis, CSA
Company D of the 6th Virginia Cavalry - CSA
His horse was killed in action in June of 1863. Hite was wounded at the Battle of Trevillian's on Halloween 1864. Near the end of the War, he was captured at Dinwiddie Court House. He was released from Point Lookout in June of 1865.
Nathaniel inherited Rock Hall, part of George Washington's Bullskin Plantation. He married the daughter of John Augustine Washington. The couple raised a large family there until the master house burned in 1906.
