Mary Bradbury, Salem Witch Trials

Onesiphorus, who was named after his mother's brother, Onesiphorus Marsh,

was a weaver by trade, and was a sergeant in the militia.

He took the oath of "freeman" and the oath of allegiance at Haverhill, MA on 24 Dec. 1677.

Onesiphorus and his wife, Mary, signed the Bradbury petition in 1692,

the petition that was circulated and signed by many of the friends of Mary (Perkins) Bradbury

in the hopes that the testimony of her good character would 

influence the outcome of her trial for witchcraft.
