Had a degree in English and Biology to teach secondary. Found that was not to her liking. Always said if she could not be a good teacher, she would not be one. She was not at that level. After a few years of doing clerical work, she started teaching infants in a childcare center and found her place. She retired in 2010 to care for her mother who had had a brain bleed.

In May of 2012, her husband Jim was diagnosed with ALS so she was caregiver for both her mother and husband until her husband passed away June 30, 2013

Her mother passed away in 2019 and since then she has lived in the family home with her granddaughter..
