A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Shirley Dale "Lemmy" LeMay, 90 of Hebron, will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing Military Honors. Lemmy was born in Coonville, Ohio on June 7, 1921 to the late Shirley Charles and Delphia (Carsey) LeMay. He passed away at his residence on November 8, 2011. Prior to retirement, he was a machine operator at Owens-Corning for over 32 years. He enjoyed doing yard work, watching TV, working on cars and turtle hunting. Most important in his life was his loving family. Survivors include his children, Sheila (Terry) Morgan, Barb (Butch) Wilcox, Katherine Taylor, Rick (Jenny) LeMay, Debbie Sue Walker, Connie Litton and Gary LeMay; one sister, Donna Efaw; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary (Williams) LeMay who passed away in 2006, whom he married on May 25, 1947; and two sons, Jack and Terry Dale Lemay. Friends may call at the funeral, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Sunday, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM.
