Shirley Truax, 74, a longtime resident of the Steele area, passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2004, at a Bismarck hospital surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born Sept. 12, 1930, Bismarck to Charles E. and Eva (Laughton) Rohrer. She graduated from Bismarck High School. On July 21, 1950, she married W. Donald Truax. They settled on a dairy farm near Steele and raised a family of 10 children. Shirley was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with all her children, grandchildren, visiting with friends, reading her Bible and writing poetry.....She is survived by her husband,.... her children....and 15 grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and two half-brothers, Ronald Rohrer and Charles “Bud” Rohrer.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept.23, at the Steele Community Building with Gilbert Ricter, David Bergh and Roy Lacy officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and from noon until time of services at the Steele Community Building. Published in the Bismarck Tribune, Bismarck, North Dakota, September 22, 2004
