Before immigrating to Israel, Shmuel had professional training in order to have a profession upon arrival. He studied various construction trades and when he arrived in Haifa he worked as a builder, gripper, a plasterer, etc. and was in much demand.
Among other projects, he participated in building Rfeinarym - Haifa Bay big smokestacks and Kiryat electricity near Haifa.
In the forties, following the recommendation of his cousins who lived in the U.S., he acquired American Farm freedom in Emek Hefer, which was later named Moshav Beit Herut; where he established a home for his family.
