Shunmugum (also known as Sunny) Moodley (1948)

Brief overview:

Sunny (54) and his wife Kistamnah Moodley (Janakie) (47), were shot and killed in the driveway of their smallholding in Verulam, Inanda, on Tuesday 12th August 2003. Their 15-year-old son Leslie witnessed the shooting,

Durban police reported. Inspector Michael Read said the couple were leaving their smallholding on the way to take their son to school. While Leslie was closing the gate, a man opened fire on his parents with a 9mm pistol. They were both shot in the chest. Leslie grabbed the assailant, who then fired shots at him but he was not hit.

The man fled into a nearby sugarcane field. Police were investigating and no arrests had been made, Read said.
