Great Grandpa was born in Chaddesley Corbett, Kidderminster, Worcestershire in 1860. His Dad was a Vicar in Kidderminster from 1859-1890. In 1890 when he was 30 he married CAROLINE M.A. CUMBERLEDGE in St George's Church, Hanover Square, London. She was born in 1870 in Cape of Good Hope. Had a child named PAULINE GRACE (1892-1954) born in New Zealand.

Had 5 brothers and a sister. Mother's name was ANNE JULIA.

Was stationed in Fiji as a sub-lieut/officer in the Armed Native Constabulary Forces in 1877 and later became Commissioner & Stipendiary Magistrate from 1879-1895.

Frequently visited the chiefly island of Bau where he met and fell in love with great grandma LORAINI TINAIRAVULA.
